Product description:

The Petzl VOLTA® GUIDE 9 mm is an ultralight, versatile climbing rope with a diameter of 9 mm. It is suitable for both rock climbing and mountaineering and offers excellent water, dirt and abrasion resistance thanks to its Guide UIAA Dry impregnation.

Key features:

  • Lightweight and compact: Weighing only 54 g/m and with a diameter of 9 mm, the rope is particularly light and can be stored compactly.

  • Water-repellent: The Guide UIAA Dry impregnation ensures that the rope stays dry even in damp conditions and meets the requirements of the UIAA Water Repellent Test (water absorption below 2%).

  • Improved durability: UltraSonic Finish technology bonds the core and sheath at the ends of the rope using ultrasound, increasing durability and preventing splitting.

Which rope length is suitable for which high-altitude climbing team?

We recommend the following lengths for the following rope teams:

2-person rope team: 40 meters

3-person and 4-person rope teams: 60 meters.

The rope length varies for each tour. Key factors include the number of people, the terrain, and also the weather (visibility). Furthermore, certain rope rescue techniques (e.g., using a pulley) require more rope.

Please be sure to inform yourself beforehand about the planning and execution of a rope team! The German Alpine Club (DAV) and Ortovox are good sources of information for this.
